The Alpines International Breed Club authorizes one Alpine Specialty Show each year per ADGA District. Any individual or club within any ADGA District may apply to host an Alpine District Specialty.

Shows wishing to hold a District Specialty can not be restricted in any way. The show must be open to all exhibitors and be an official ADGA, AGS or CGS sanctioned show. Any money or prizes offered by the club, state or local authority must be paid to any winner, regardless of where they reside.

AN APPLICATION FEE OF $50.00 IS REQUIRED. $25.00 will be refunded to the host club after the specialty results and photographs are returned to the AI Specialty Shows Chairman no later than October 1st. $25.00 will be retained to help defray program costs. Checks should be made payable to Alpines International and sent with the application to the Specialty Chairman.

Alpines International will provide Specialty Certificates suitable for framing and Rosettes for the Grand, Reserve Grand and Best of Breed for each Alpine sanction. (Note: When Champion Challenge is offered, and there is no competition, the Grand Champion automatically becomes the Best of Breed.)

The host group agrees to supply the results of the top five (5) placings in each Alpine class to the chairman as soon as possible after the completion of the show. Pictures of the Specialty Champions, Reserve Champions and Best of Breed winners are REQUIRED. Additional photos of group class winners and all senior doe class winners are encouraged to be taken and sent to the chairman. All photographs become the property of Alpines International, will be published in Alpines International and will also become part of the Specialty Scrapbook that will be on display at National Shows and Conventions.

Criteria for selection of a specialty site, normally the first group to apply and send their deposit will be awarded the specialty UNLESS:

  • The same show hosted the Specialty during the previous year.
  • The show is in the same state of a multi-state district as the previous year.
  • The show offers only two sanctions verses a show offering three sanctions.

If a district had several applications the previous year, those shows that were not awarded the Specialty will be offered first chance to host the Specialty the following year if they apply again.

SELECTED SITES WILL BE NOTIFIED SOON AFTER JANUARY 1st
